3.27.11

Warmup: Foot MFR, Toe Pulls, Lat & Chest Stretch in Cage, Pressups, 2.0, Frog Squats, 32kg Swings and 1-arm Swings

KB Snatch (24kg)
60 reps, rest to the top of the minute, 2:49
–Mentally shut down to continue after the 60 reps.
40 reps, rest to the top of the minute + 15s, 2:03
20 reps, 0:44
–Life has been difficult the last several months as seen by my lack of training.  Pushing through that wall @ 60 reps I think is really suffering.  I feel like how I explained to Jimmy Yuan today that my 400 cardio is nice, but the 1600 cardio is not there.  For the 60 reps, the KB felt light, and the reps were smooth.
–Been trying to put together lots of good advice from all the heavy hitters.  What has made the most sense so far in some changes was not getting out so fast in the first 10/10 and not taking more rest than necessary to prevent apical breathing.
–One thing I am counting on is the DD bell feeling a lot cleaner than the Ader bell that I have been training with.

Charlie, the dd bell will definitely help. The groove is much smoother. Try going to 5/5, and your right its almost all mental

Charlie what this mean ” to the top of minute”?

So if I take 0:45 to get 20 swings, I rest 0:15 to the top of the minute.

Just subscribed to your blog and noticed your kettlebell training. I noticed you said your “counting on the DD bell feeling a lot cleaner”…Is that because you’re planning to attend an RKC certification workshop? The reason I’m asking is because I’m beginning to rev up my KB training again to prepare for the RKC workshop in San Diego in August.

Yes, I am taking the RKC at the end of May.
